Ulyanovsk region to organize “Smart City” panel during the 5th International Conference “Digital Transformation & Global Society”

The event took place online on the 19th of June. Representatives from universities of Russian Federation and Kazakhstan participated in the event.

The conference was organized by ITMO University in cooperation with PRIOR - NW Non-Profit Association and participation of the HSE - St. Petersburg. Attendees of the “Smart City” panel discussed the evaluation of a city’s public service infrastructure based on online data, intelligent unmanned technology in urban environments, modelling twilight illuminance in urban area using machine learning techniques and other topics.

 “Ulyanovsk region is the World Smart Sustainable City Organization (WeGO) Eurasia Regional Office. I believe that exchange of best practices is important for all WeGO members. We can adopt the positive experience and develop new solutions based on it enabling the improvement the citizens’ quality of life”, - mentioned Svetlana Openysheva, director of “Government for citizens”. 

During the conference, 18th of June, also took place the online international seminar “Electronic Participation: Concepts, Technologies and Interdisciplinarity” discussing the role technologies play in the theory and practice of electronic participation (e.g. e-petitions, social media). Experts from Ulyanovsk region as well as representatives of other Russian Federation regions and global community participated in the event: ITMO University, HSE - St. Petersburg, St.Petersburg State University, HSE - Nizhny Novgorod,  North-West Institute of Management, branch of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), Novosibirsk State Technical University, UNU-EGOV (Portugal), University of Zurich (Switzerland), Danube University Krems (Austria).
